Since my dad and cousin were down in Kuala Lumpur recently, we decided to treat them to this Hunan cuisine. This is surely a cuisine that’s suitable for all lovers of spiciness. Hunan cuisine or Xiang cuisine, is well known for its hot spicy flavour, fresh aroma and deep colour. Hunan Province is located in south central China, south of the middle course of the Yangtze River and south of Dongting Lake. The one and only restaurant that we both know was Xiang Fu Xiang Cheng Hunan Restaurant (鄉府湘城湖南菜馆) at Scott Garden. Honestly, there aren’t many restaurants in Kuala Lumpur that are run by the China Chinese. We’ve heard of so much good food that one can find in mainland China, but the main reason that delayed us from going there is none other than the language barrier. We have a strong penchant for such authentic cuisine, for the simple reason that we’ve never been to China. It has been awhile since both hubby and I last had an authentic Chinese meal (peculiar of China, I meant).
